Membership

Formal attire is the signature of the Penguin Dinner-Dance Club. Member and guest couples come dressed in their finest to make it an elegant affair: 

Ladies:  Formal evening gown, cocktail dress or elegant pant ensemble.

Men:      Tuxedo or dinner jacket with tuxedo trousers, or dark suit. 

Membership is by couples only, however, an individual without a regular dance partner may join the club and list their dance partner as “Other” on the application.

 

Club dues for calendar year 2024 are $100 per Rossmoor resident couple and $120 per non-resident couple and cover the Club’s fixed costs for the band, coat check, decorations, etc.  

 

Annual dues for each calendar year are prorated based on the number of dances remaining in the calendar year.

For example, for a resident couple when there are 4 remaining dances, the dues are 4/6 of $100 (or $67),

and for a non-resident couple the dues are 4/6 or $120 (or $80).

 

In all cases, whether for a Rossmoor resident or non-Rossmoor resident, we respectfully request you attend at least one Penguin Dinner-Dance Club event prior to indicating your desire to join.

 

Current Members – Renew Membership for 2024

By now, you should have received a 2024 Penguin Dinner-Dance Club membership renewal email.  You can renew your membership and pay your dues online (our preferred method) by following the instructions below.  

Please do so before December 17.  

If you already have an online Penguin Dinner-Dance Club account: click here: Pay Dues and follow the instructions.

If you have not already created a Penguin Dinner-Dance Club login account, follow these steps – this is a one time thing:

  1. Click here to sign up; you will need to establish your own password

  2. Complete the form, including the “Requesting Membership” field

    (you are still a Club member – this is just to have your information in our new system)

  3. Click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the Sign Up form

  4. When your website login account has been approved, you will receive an email from PenguinDanceClub@gmail.com, after which you just click on Pay Dues (or in the menu at the top of this web page) to pay your dues

Or if you are unable to pay online, please mail your check to Jacky Poulsen, Membership Chairperson – click here for Jacky's mailing address.

Rossmoor Residents – New Membership Request 

Membership applications are being accepted for Rossmoor residents only. 

 

We prefer you request a Penguin Dinner-Dance Club membership and pay your dues online in a few steps. If you have not already created a Penguin Dinner-Dance Club login account, follow these steps – this is a one time thing:

  1. Click here to sign up; you will need to establish your own password

  2. Complete the form,

    1. if you would like to request membership, be sure to complete the “Requesting Membership” field. This will also allow you to make online reservations for our dinner-dances.

    2. if you only want to request a login account to make online reservations for our dinner-dances, leave the “Requesting Membership” field blank.

  3. Click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the Sign Up form

  4. When your website login account has been approved, you will receive an email from PenguinDanceClub@gmail.com, new members can click here to Pay Dues (or in the menu at the top of this web page) to pay your dues

However, if you are unable to submit your new membership request online, Rossmoor residents wishing to join the Club should complete the Membership Application Form and submit it, along with payment, to Jacky Poulsen, Membership Chairperson – her contact information is included on the Application.

 

Non-Rossmoor Residents – Wait List Request

Unfortunately, the Penguin Dinner-Dance Club is not able to accept membership applications from non-Rossmoor resident couples at this time, although you are welcome to join our wait list. However, non-resident guests can be approved to make online reservations for our dinner-dances.

We prefer you submit a Penguin Dinner-Dance Club wait list request online in a few steps. If you have not already created a Penguin Dinner-Dance Club login account, follow these steps – this is a one time thing:

  1. Click here to sign up; you will need to establish your own password

  2. Complete the form,

    1. if you would like to request wait list placement, be sure to complete the “Requesting Membership” field

    2. if you only want to request a login account to make online reservations for our dinner-dance, leave the “Requesting Membership” field blank

  3. Click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the Sign Up form

  4. When your website login account has been approved, you will receive an email from PenguinDanceClub@gmail.com to let you know you have been placed on the waiting list and/or whether or not you can make online dinner-dance reservations

  5. If you have not received the above-mentioned email within one week, click here to contact our Membership team

 

However, if you are unable to submit your new membership request online, Non-Rossmoor resident couples wishing to join the Penguin Dinner-Dance Club should send their completed Membership Application Form to Jacky Poulsen, Membership Chairperson – her contact information is included on the Form.
