The Penguin Dance Club of Rossmoor was organized in 1966 by a group of Rossmoor residents who felt the need for a social dinner dance club that would increase the opportunity for developing friends living in this beautiful valley.

Formal attire is the signature of the Penguin Dance Club. The organizers decided this social group of dancers should come dressed in their finest to make it an elegant affair.

Ladies:  Formal evening gown, cocktail dress or elegant pant ensemble.

Men:      Tuxedo or dinner jacket with tuxedo trousers, or dark suit.

The club holds six catered formal dinner dances per year with music by a live band. The dances are held in the Fireside room at Gateway. The dance music is ballroom style:  foxtrots, waltzes, swings and Latin dances. Dances are held on the second Saturday of the odd-numbered months (January, March, etc.)
