Rossmoor Event Center

The Penguin Dinner-Dance Club will have a special White Diamond themed 60th Anniversary Gala in the Rossmoor Event Center from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. featuring music by the Vintage Jukebox Trio.  The splendid table decorations will be created by the artistic and highly talented Barrie Christensen.  This event is open to all members of the various Rossmoor dance clubs, Rossmoor residents and invited guests.

Singles as well as couples are welcome, whether you love to dance or simply enjoy a night out with good company, tasty food and wonderful music. Members are encouraged to invite guest couples to experience this special event.

We will begin with a social hour at 6 PM in the Donner Room of the Event Center featuring passed appetizers of bacon wrapped shrimp with pesto aioli, brie & prosciutto, and stuffed mushrooms, along with a variety of beverages. It's a wonderful time to chat with friends & make new acquaintances.

The social hour will end at 6:45 PM and dinner, catered by Creekside Catering, will start at 7 PM. The music of the Vintage Jukebox Trio welcomes you to your reserved seats in the Tahoe Room. A wide variety of ballroom favorites will play throughout the evening for your dancing and listening enjoyment.

On the tables will be strawberry and mandarin orange salad with champagne dressing as well as assorted dinner rolls & butter. Entrée choices are:

  • Filet steak tips in a mushroom sauce, creamy polenta, vegetable medley

  • Wild Mahi Mahi with pineapple mango salsa, jasmine rice with whole button mushrooms, and zucchini

  • Vegetarian risotto with tofu, carrots, shallots, garlic and spinach creamy pesto sauce

Dessert will be chocolate souffle cake with strawberry slices and house made whipped cream.

Decaf coffee & tea will be available.

The monthly activity dues are $140.00 per Penguin member couple, $70.00 per Penguin member single, $160.00 per guest couple, and $80.00 per guest single. For reservation details, please see "Attendance" below.

At this elegant evening, women wear long gowns, cocktail dresses, or elegant pants ensembles. Men's attire is a dark suit with dress shirt and tie, a tuxedo or dinner jacket. Members are encouraged to invite guest couples to experience this special event.

For additional information, please contact our Reservations team.

The Penguin Dinner-Dance Club of Rossmoor was organized in 1966 by a group of Rossmoor residents who felt the need for a social dinner dance club that would increase the opportunity for developing friends living in this beautiful valley.

Formal attire is the signature of the Penguin Dinner-Dance Club. Member and guest couples come dressed in their finest to make it an elegant affair:

Ladies:  long gown, cocktail dress,

or elegant pants ensemble

Men:      dark suit with dress shirt and tie,

tuxedo, or dinner jacket.

The club holds six catered formal dinner dances per year with music by a live band. The dances are generally held in the Fireside room at Gateway. The dance music is ballroom style:  foxtrots, waltzes, swing and Latin dances. Dances are held on the second Saturday of the odd-numbered months (January, March, etc.)
