This elegant evening will have a special theme of Black and White Ball with décor by the incomparable Barrie Christensen.
The social hour will begin at 6 PM in the ante room at Fireside, featuring passed appetizers: Teriyaki meatball picks and stuffed baby Portabella mushrooms. A variety of beverages will also be available. It's a wonderful time to chat with friends and make new acquaintances.
The social hour ends at 6:45 PM, and dinner, catered by Classic Catering, will start at 7 PM. The music of the Claudio Medeiros Trio welcomes you to your reserved seats in the dining room. Music will play throughout the evening for your dancing and listening enjoyment.
On the tables will be iceberg lettuce salads with bacon, tomato, black olive and blue cheese, as well as assorted dinner rolls & butter. Entrée choices are:

Roasted farmed salmon filet with 3 citrus beurre blanc, potato and carrot galette (Gluten Free)

Tender beef tips with brown mushroom, colorful peppers & caramelized onion risotto Milanese, served with fresh garden vegetables

Vegetarian grilled vegetable & cheese lasagna
Dessert will be pastry cups with lemon curd, berries and white chocolate drizzle.
Decaf coffee & tea will be available.
The monthly activity dues are $140.00 per member couple and $160.00 per guest couple. For reservation details, please see "Attendance" below.
At this elegant evening, women wear long gowns, cocktail dresses, or elegant pants ensembles. Men's attire is a dark suit with dress shirt and tie, a tuxedo or dinner jacket. Members are encouraged to invite guest couples to experience this special event.
2026 is our 60th anniversary year!
The Penguin Dinner-Dance Club of Rossmoor was organized in 1966 by a group of Rossmoor residents who felt the need for a social dinner dance club that would increase the opportunity for developing friends living in this beautiful valley.
Formal attire is the signature of the Penguin Dinner-Dance Club. Member and guest couples come dressed in their finest to make it an elegant affair:
Ladies: long gown, cocktail dress, or elegant pants ensemble.
Men: dark suit with dress shirt and tie, tuxedo, or dinner jacket.
The club holds six catered formal dinner dances per year with music by a live band. The dances are held in the Fireside room at Gateway. The dance music is ballroom style: foxtrots, waltzes, swings and Latin dances. Dances are held on the second Saturday of the odd-numbered months (January, March, etc.)

Attendance
Attendance at Penguin Dinner-Dance Club events is for Club member couples and non-member guest couples.

A couple is any two people who enjoy spending the evening together.

Member couples may also invite a single adult guest to join them at their table.
